JBL PartyBox 320
and EVR+
Return to: General Bluetooth/Speaker Issues
Solution: Enhanced Volume Restore Plus (EVR+ ON)
Issue: Volume Retention/Fluctuation Between Players (iOS Only)
Speaker: JBL PartyBox Stage 320
An “Enhanced Volume Restore Plus” (EVR+) option was added to the Actions > System Settings window, which addresses an issue with retention and fluctuation between players. This EVR+ solution was initially added in version 15.7 and improved significantly in version 22.5 after your developer spent two weeks with this speaker.
Volume Control During Voice The 320 is also known to demonstrates an issue in which it will not respond to volume adjustments ONLY during the playback of voice, and ONLY when the voice is setup to play before Apple Music. And EVR+ does not seem to address this issue. if you are still experiencing this issue with EVR+ turned on, you can either setup the music to start before voice, OR you can wire an aux cord to your 320, or purchase the songs thru iTunes instead of using Apple Music.
If you have EVR+ turned on, and you continue to have problems with the JBL 320, please send details to support@ballparkdj.com
More details on this issue... First, the issue only happens with the JBL 320 speaker on iOS, when using Apple Music, over Bluetooth, in combination with turning on fade-out of music (however, this is a common combination). In order to emulate fade-out with Apple Music, we must fade down the volume of the device (down to 5%), then stop the song, then restore the volume. This volume restoration is not recognized by this 320 speaker, at least not over Bluetooth, while the music is stopped, and therefore when the next player is played, the speaker takes control with it's volume back at 5% and pulls the volume of the phone down with it. So known alternate solutions to EVR+ include any of the following.
Purchase the songs thru iTunes (and eliminating Apple Music subscription)
Wire an aux cord from your iPhone/iPad to the JBL 320 (and eliminating Bluetooth)
Turning off fade-out.
We understand none of these are desirable solutions, and therefore why we are going to great lengths to find the right solution that avoids any of these measures.
If EVR+ does not solve your problem with the JBL 320, or if you are having an issue with another Bluetooth speaker, please visit our General Bluetooth/Speaker Issues page for more suggestions.
